Summer Recreation Coordinator
Position Overview
Are you passionate about youth aged 12-18, community, and creating unforgettable summer experiences? Do you bring big energy, bright ideas, and a heart for making a difference? If so, Lloydminster Community Youth Centre (LCYC) wants YOU to join our team this summer!
We’re looking for a Summer Recreation Coordinator who’s ready to design and deliver a season full of fun, connection, and meaningful activities for local youth. If you love planning events, building relationships, and creating a safe place with supportive staff where youth feel comfortable to be themselves, this role is your chance to shine.
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, so the successful applicant must meet the grant requirements.
Wage
Wage: $20 per hour
Employment Status
Full Time, Temporary Contract
Hours & Schedule
35 hours per week, to a maximum 280 hours / 8 weeks Tuesday - Saturday
Scheduled shifts including weekdays and weekends based on program needs

Duties and Responsibilities
Overall Responsibilities:
- Team up with youth facilitators to run exciting weekend and weekday activities
- Build genuine, positive relationships with youth and being a role model they can count on
- Plan and deliver recreational activities that are engaging and meaningful
- Manage the Summer Recreation Program budget
- Support youth with encouragement, guidance, and a welcoming attitude
- Contribute to the safety and cleanliness of LCYC
- Transport youth safely in a 15-passenger van.

- Adaptable and solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Confident decision-making and common-sense judgment
- High level of professionalism and accountability
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education and/or experience in Youth Leadership and Adolescent Development
- A valid driver's license combined with a 3-year clean driving history
- Availability for evening shifts including Saturdays
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
