Resource Development Officer – A Key Role Supporting Community Impact Position Overview SPARK Foundation is seeking a strategic, highly organized, and proactive Resource Development Officer to lead and strengthen the organization’s fundraising and development initiatives. This key role supports community impact by building donor relationships, driving revenue growth, and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with SPARK’s mission. In this key role, you will be a trusted collaborator and problem-solver, supporting organizational operations, people, and initiatives that contribute directly to SPARK’s success and impact. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the fund development process, providing strategic guidance and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence Develop and execute comprehensive resource development strategies to drive sustainable annual revenue growth. Prepare and manage grants, capital campaigns, major gifts, and planned giving initiatives to maximize funding opportunities. Establish and maintain efficient development operations, ensuring systems, processes, and supporting functions are structured, streamlined, and effective. Build, steward, and expand a robust donor pipeline, including corporate funders and multi-year partners. Conduct strategic prospect research to identify, cultivate, and secure new funding sources aligned with organizational priorities. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to strengthen brand positioning and effectively communicate organizational impact to stakeholders. Additional Responsibilities Support the organization’s strategic goals by leveraging a range of fundraising approaches, including events, grants, major gifts, community partnerships, and corporate sponsorships. Conduct prospect research to identify, cultivate, and solicit new funding sources for programs and other initiatives. Foster relationships with community groups, and businesses to engage their support through volunteering, sponsorship, and corporate philanthropy programs. Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify new opportunities and navigate challenges. Strong leadership, collaboration, and strategic planning skills. Self- starter who is very successful working independently, demonstrating creativity and innovation. Works effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment and can adapt to changing circumstances. Highly organized, detail oriented, very conscientious and successful at multi-tasking. Qualifications and Requirements: University Degree or College Diploma in a related field. Demonstrated experience in donor cultivation, major gifts, stewardship, and corporate partnerships. Proficiency in developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, including capital campaigns and grant writing. Knowledge of marketing and branding principles to effectively promote SPARK’s story for impact. Knowledge of Lloydminster’s nonprofit sector considered an asset.
