Bottle Depot Sorter

Are you looking to learn or implement great customer service skills? Are you looking for a job with set working hours rather than shift work?

Our Bottle Depot is currently hiring Casual Sorters to primarily work on Saturdays from 8:00am - 4:00pm with the possibility of additional hours throughout the week during the busy summer season.

Primary duties include sorting and counting refundable beverage containers from customers in a timely and organized manner. As well as keeping your station clean, ensuring containers are acceptable with no contaminants, maintaining equipment, and completing tasks in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Clear Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector required within 1 month of start date.
• High School Diploma preferred
• Basic knowledge of computers
• Accuracy counting and sorting containers based on type
• Customer Service experience preferred
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities considered an asset.

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills Required:

1. Ability to accurately count and distinguish between the different containers.

2. Ability to maintain pleasant and friendly customer service.

3. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

4. Ability to effectively manage own workload and time.

5. Ability to cope effectively under stressful situations, i.e. influx of customers.

6. Ability to work/operate in a safe manner, maintain Occupational Health & Safety expectations and wear necessary protective clothing ie. gloves, apron, steel-toed shows, etc.

7. Reliable and willing to learn.

Pay: From $15.75 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
