Family Violence Outreach Worker – Full-Time

Wage: $24.00-$29.52 per hour

As a Full-time employee, you will:

• Earn vacation time accumulated at a rate of 6% of hours worked immediately upon hire.

Position Overview

The Family Violence Outreach Worker:

• Contributes to and is responsible for all aspects of the services offered through the Family Violence Outreach Program, providing support services to non- residential clients of the Interval Home as well as past residents.
• Provides comprehensive safety planning and trauma-informed care to clients, as well as harm reduction strategies for interpersonal and/or family violence, substance use, mental health and sexual health, etc.
• Advocates for social justice and reduced barriers for women accessing services; develops an active case load and ensures effective case management.
• Assesses the risk and vulnerability of the individual and respond with appropriate risk management strategies, adhering to SPARK policies and procedures.
• Facilitates Self-Empowerment Phase 1 and 2 as scheduled. Prepares materials. Screens participants. Supports participation throughout sessions.

Experience and Competencies:

• Diploma or degree in a human service field is preferred, but a combination of related training and experience will be considered.
• Excellent contemporary understanding of family violence issues and challenges, and strategies to overcome them
• Comfortable working with diverse families who have very specific needs.
• Previous experience in related field would be an asset
• A valid driver's license combined with a 3-year clean driving history is preferred.
