Family Activities Worker – The SPARK Foundation of Lloydminster

Position Overview

This full time, temporary summer position is a great opportunity to gain experience within human services. Reporting to the Director of Residential Programs the Family Activities Worker delivers a range of engaging recreational and social activities that strengthens the wellbeing of the families we serve in our Residential Programs.

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, so the successful applicant must meet the grant requirements.

Wage starts at: $20.00, based on education and experience.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, daytime, evening, weekday and weekends

Duties and Responsibilities

· Supports families with their day-to-day routines, practical needs and provides childcare options for mothers.

· Engages children/youth, and women in activities that promotes strengths, interests, and the wellbeing of each individual.

· Organizes and facilitates recreational and social activities for individuals and families.

Experience and Competencies

· Must be 18-29 years of age per funding guidelines.

· Has a strong interest in children and youth; a positive, outgoing demeanor; the ability to develop warm, supportive relationships with children, youth, and women.

· Able to work effectively in a demanding, team environment, and strong problem-solving skills.

· A valid driver’s license, a minimum of 3 year’s driving experience and a clean driving record are also required.
